A Federal High Court in Abuja has mounted November 25 for former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to open his defence within the ongoing trial over alleged illegal interception of phone conversations.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik mounted the date on Monday after dismissing a no-case submission filed by El-Rufai, ruling that the prosecution had offered enough proof to require him to defend himself in opposition to the costs.
The courtroom’s resolution adopted arguments by the defence and prosecution over whether or not the proof offered by the Federal Government established a prima facie case in opposition to the previous governor.
