The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has launched the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Emission Tracker (NOGIET), a technology-driven platform designed to enhance methane monitoring, reporting and regulatory enforcement.
An announcement by NUPRC’s, Head, Media and Corporate Communications, Eniola Akinkuotu, mentioned the platform seeks to strengthen its drive to obtain Nigeria’s 60 p.c methane emissions discount goal by 2035.
NOGIET was formally handed over to the Commission Chief Executive of the NUPRC, Mrs Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, on the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
