The Nigeria Police Command in Benue State has denied media experiences alleging that it ordered the withdrawal of Mobile Police personnel from Ayilamo group in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
In an announcement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Orchia Aondogwu, the police described the report as unfounded and baseless.
“The report alleging the withdrawal of Mobile Police personnel from Ayilamo is false. Mobile Police personnel remain stationed in the area, alongside the Divisional Police team and other tactical teams,” the assertion affirmed.
Aondogwu mentioned the navy had deployed extra personnel to strengthen security within the space.
“The public is therefore advised to disregard the misleading report,” he mentioned.
However, the normal ruler of Ayilamo, Mue Ter, Chief Torkoer Samuel, confirmed that the Mobile Police personnel had left the group with their tools and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) on Wednesday.
According to him, “The mobile police men left yesterday at 8 pm. Nobody is there. Brigadier Hassan only came for inspection on Monday and left with his team. There is nothing like the military deployed in Ayilamo.”
