The Joint Task Force (North-East), Operation OPHK, Task Force, following intelligence- led data, has neutralised scores of terrorists in Lake Chad area.
Captain Mohammed Goni, performing Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North-East) Operation HADIN KAI Maiduguri, in an announcement mentioned on 26 October 2026, troops performed engagements in opposition to suspected terrorist components at separate places in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State and neutralised 28 terrorists whereas six others reportedly sustained accidents.
In additional operations on 28 October 2026, the Maritime Component, Naval Base Lake Chad deployed in Baga, performed offensive actions in opposition to terrorists’ targets throughout the Lake Chad space, and neutralised eight terrorists, whereas 10 others reportedly sustained various levels of accidents.
Also, an air interdiction mission efficiently disrupted a suspected terrorist improvised explosive device-laying operation, neutralizing eight operatives and destroying their car, bikes and IED supplies.
“The operation prevented the terrorist group from continuing with its deliberate exercise,” it mentioned.
