The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC), mentioned the assertion credited to Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has confirmed that the Federal Government has failed in its effort to safe Nigeria and can’t supply credible options to the safety disaster within the nation.
The ADC-PCC mentioned their place was in response to Yari’s reported assertion that, “If Buhari, who is a retired military man, could not wipe out insecurity, what can Tinubu do?”
Kola Ologbondiyan, Director, Media and Publicity of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, in a press release, described the comment as a “damning indictment of the APC government and a startling admission from a senior figure entrusted with selling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid to Nigerians.”
According to the ADC campaign, Yari’s assertion raises elementary questions concerning the APC’s capability to handle insecurity and the justification for looking for one other presidential mandate when the occasion has but to ship on probably the most fundamental duties of presidency; defending the lives and property of residents.
He mentioned “For a party that has been in power for nearly 12 years, this is a shocking admission of failure. Rather than inspire confidence in Nigerians, the statement from the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council reinforces the growing perception that the ruling party has run out of ideas and has no credible answers to the nation’s security challenges.”
“After years of guarantees, Nigerians proceed to grapple with banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and wanton killings. Communities stay weak, households stay in concern, and residents are more and more fearful concerning the security of their lives and livelihoods.
“Now, the APC’s own campaign chief appears to be asking Nigerians to accept that if a former military Head of State could not defeat insecurity, there is little President Tinubu can do. This is not the language of a party offering hope; it is an expression of helplessness from a party seeking another mandate,” he mentioned.
